Anthem is fundamentally incompetent. The level of expertise of their first line representatives is an order of magnitude lower than United Healthcare.
1. My application was received but for some reason (despite their assurances) unprocessed.
2. It took me 6 weeks and many hours of calls before I could get straight information on a Part D drug. They lost forms, sent the wrong ones, directed me to the wrong department, etc.
3. Today I got a message which was cut off. Turns out that I have to call their pharmacy to authorize an expensive prescription. But I have to call back tomorrow, as it is past 4 pm in New York (2:00 here in California). And this is just a SAMPLE of the problems I've had with them.
